Good work Dawg,
After 15 yrs of not having any kind of relationship with my family,...I've been doing the same thing. I'm behind this action 100%.
I also feel that it can be effective. I have nothing to lose.
i recently wrote a letter to every family member i could find an address to which exposed the wt org as the group of fools they actually are!
interesting thing is that not one letter was sent to my home congregation by anyone and the letter circulated to almost every family member i have; so instead of turning me in as i suspected they would do, they are talking about it openly and distributing it to all family members-even ones i couldn't find an address to.
i'm winning this war!

i saw your email address on the post about the arson at your church.
i was wondering if you could answer some questions about your church?
When someone seeks to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses, the only concern is whether that person has an accurate knowledge of the bible, and of what it means to be baptized.
Boroean,
I think the whole point is the above comment by the JW person. If a person claims to be in "the one true religion" or god's sole spirit directed channel on this earth then that person should want to TRY to answer questions.
Of course vanilla believes otherwise and is attempting to get this person to become a "free thinker" by asking tough questions. These questions might actually cause a JW to do some thinking on their own outside of WTS mind control.
The JW should not be offended by such questions, afterall, they hold "accurate knowledge",...or "the truth" and should want to share it with anyway they can.
What happens though?,...tough questions are asked,...the JW gets offended and says you need to contact a Kingdom Hall and start a bible study, please don't contact me anymore!
Notice that vanilla's personal bible study and church isn't enough.
They only way people come into the JW religion (besides born into) and have "their heart opened by Jehovah" is through indoctrination and mind control starting with the "bible studies",...which aren't bible studies at all. They are studies in JW literature. Indoctrination begins here and the mind control continues once "the study" begins going to meetings.
There is nothing wrong with asking questions and there is nothing wrong with vanilla trying to open this person's mind a bit.
maybe this thread has already been started before.
please forgive me if it has, but i would like to know how many on board are active witnesses, inactive, da/df''d, or never been witnesses.. i am inactive since 2005, black female, separated, head of household, etc.. rsvp.

i left when i was in my teenage years, thank god, so i didn't really have the chance to bring anyone under the wts mind control.
how about you?
did you bring anyone in?...and if so, where are they now?

the watchtower scoffs at "apostates" because they want their "so-called freedom".
not practicing this religion does give you a lot of freedom and normalcy.
what freedoms do you cherish now?
The freedom to read anything I want.
Personally,...I'm a believer in God,...but I can pick up any book written from any one's view or creed without feeling paranoid or guilty.
The freedom to form my own spiritual opinions.
since everyone will be young and in top shape, i wonder what sports will be permited, and will competition be permitted?.
the williams sisters play competitive tennis, and that seems to be ok, but on the other hand, some young jw's aren,t allowed to play competitive sports at school..... .

i've noticed many of you have the ability to post wt literature quotes from any point in wts history.
how does one obtain this cd?.
what is it called?.
Thanks for the info.
dear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.
CoCo,
The Preakness, a major horse race, is the second race of the Triple Crown. The Triple Crown consists of The Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont.
All the top horses contend in these races. A horse hasn't won the Triple Crown since, i think, 1978.
Keep your eye on Street Sense,...he looks pretty good.

I've looked on ebay and found things like, "Watchtower library 1997".
Does this include all '97 WT and Awakes and any books that came out in '97 or is it just the WT's of '97?
Do you have to get each year or is their like a box set of all bound volumes and books on CD?

I just spent a very enjoyable night at the horse track with my dad. Good times. Only if that 3 horse would have nosed it out at the line. 65-1 and he was closing as if he was a 3-1 horse. Oh well,...atleast I have the Preakness to start concentrating on.
